What counts as tin or sheet metal?
Tin and sheet metal cover light gauge steel like food cans, ductwork, roofing, siding, and thin panels from construction or fabrication. If it is a light ferrous piece, bring it in and our team will grade it for you.
Do I need to remove paint, coating, or galvanizing first?
No. Painted, coated, and galvanized sheet metal is all fine. We grade it as-is, so there is no need to clean or strip it before you bring it by.
Is sheet metal worth much if it is so light?
Light gauge metal prices lower per pound than heavy iron, but it adds up quickly by volume. Bring a full load and it is well worth the trip, and our bins make it easy to collect larger amounts.
Can I bring mixed light iron and steel together?
Yes. You can bring tin, sheet metal, and other light steel in one load. If heavier iron or nonferrous metal is mixed in, we will sort and grade each type so you are paid fairly for everything.
Do you take automotive sheet metal or car body panels?
Yes, we accept automotive scrap once it is drained of fluids and cleared of non-metal parts. Give us a call if you are not sure how to prep a vehicle or a large panel.
How do you price tin and sheet metal?
Light gauge steel is priced from the day's ferrous market, which rises and falls with demand. We weigh it all at the yard and hand you cash right there, with no hidden charges taken out.
