Do you buy shavings that still have cutting oil or coolant on them?
Yes. Oily or wet shavings are common from machining, and we still take them. Heavily saturated loads grade a little lower since the fluid adds weight, so draining them helps, but bring them either way.
Do the shavings need to be separated by metal?
Sorting by metal earns the most, since a clean barrel of a single metal grades highest. Mixed shavings are welcome too, and our team will assess the load and pay you fairly for what is in it.
How should I bring in shavings and turnings?
Drums, buckets, bags, or bins all work. For shops with steady volume, we can drop off containers and pick them up on a schedule so the chips never pile up on the floor.
Do you take stainless or exotic alloy turnings?
Yes, and stainless and nickel-alloy turnings are among the more valuable shavings we buy. Keep them separate from common steel chips to protect their value.
Is there a minimum amount of shavings to sell?
No minimum. Whether it is a single bucket or a routine truckload, bring what you have and we will weigh it in.
How do you price metal shavings?
Shavings are priced by metal type, cleanliness, and the day's market, so a dry, sorted load of brass or stainless earns well above oily mixed chips. We weigh every load at the yard and pay cash on the spot.
