Help the environment and raise money for a safe walking path for school kids in West Modesto by recycling at Modesto Junk Company. When dropping off CRV beverage containers and scrap metals at Modesto Junk Company, just tell the weigh master that you want the proceeds from your recyclables to benefit the Helen White Memorial Trail fund. We’ll give you a weight receipt, and send a copy – along with a check – to the West Modesto / King Kennedy Neighborhood Collaborative, administrators for the fund.
About the Helen White Memorial Trail:
The Stanislaus Multi-Cultural Community Health Coalition • West Modesto / King Kennedy Neighborhood Collaborative is raising money to create a safe walking trail between Maze Boulevard and California Avenue. The path is designed with controlled access to the trail for pedestrians and bicyclists only, shrubs and low ground cover along with lighting, call boxes, and a perimeter wall. The safe path is for all residents, and will especially benefit school children attending Franklin Elementary, Mark Twain Junior High and Modesto High schools. The trail will be named after Helen White, who championed improving the quality of life for children and families throughout Modesto.
