Modesto Junk Co selected for 2011 Business Recycling Award

Modesto Junk Company, Inc. Recycling Center has been selected to receive a 2011 Business Recycling Award from the City of Modesto. Recycling more than 30,000 tons of materials in 2011, the Company was selected by the Modesto Citizen’s Advisory Committee on Recycling (CACOR) and the City of Modesto Solid Waste Division. The award is being presented at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. This is the thirteenth consecutive year that Modesto Junk Co. has received such an award.

‘B’ Green Recycle Day on Saturday, October 20th

Come out and recycle on the “B Green Recycle Day” at the Cruisers – Boyett Petroleum station (McHenry and Kiernan) on Saturday, October 20th. Items that can be donated for this community-wide fundraising activity include scrap metal, CRV aluminum cans, glass and plastic bottles, as well as toners and ink cartridges.

All funds collected from B Green Recycle Days are matched (thereby doubling your personal contribution) by Boyett Petroleum and applied to the City of Modesto’s Adopt A Park Program. Currently, the monies collected are being raised for the new (and now OPEN!) Modesto Dog Park in town.

Goods can be dropped off between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20th, 2012, at 4931 McHenry Avenue in Modesto.

Modesto Junk Co. announces new CRV bottle recycling rates

Modesto Junk Company, Inc. • Recycling Center announces new California Refund Value (CRV) bottle recycling rates, effective Thursday, March 1, 2012. Most of the CRV bottle recycling rates have increased, and Modesto Junk Co. remains the market leader for CRV aluminum cans of course.

Modesto Junk Co.’s new prices for the most common CRV items recycled by California consumers are listed:

$2.10/lb. CRV Aluminum Cans

$0.105/lb. CRV Glass (mixed colors)

$1.00/lb. CRV #1 PET Plastic

Modesto Junk Company, Inc. • Recycling Center proudly announces that it is a PLATINUM sponsor of the Earth Day in the Park 2012 festival. This annual celebration is put on by the City of Modesto. It is held to educate our community about the environment, and takes place this year on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Graceada Park in Downtown Modesto. This year marks Modesto Junk Co.’s fourteenth annual top level sponsorship of this community celebration.

New Campaign Aims For More Stanislaus County Jobs (CBS Local/Channel 13 News)

Modesto Junk Company, Inc. Recycling Center has been selected to receive a 2010 Business Recycling Award from the City of Modesto. The Company was selected for its “outstanding waste reduction and recycling efforts” by the Modesto Citizen’s Advisory Committee on Recycling (CACOR) and the City of Modesto Solid Waste Division. The award is being presented at a reception on Friday, August 16, 2011. This is the twelfth consecutive year that Modesto Junk Co. has received such an award.

Clean Green Yard Machines lawn mower trade-in back again

Modesto Junk Company, Inc. Recycling Center continues to be the exclusive Stanislaus County area partner recycling center with the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) for the Clean Green Yard Machines lawn mower trade-in program.

Individuals who have a gas-powered lawn mower can contact the SJVAPCD and request a discount voucher to purchase an electric-powered Neuton brand lawn mower for just $50 – $100 (14″ or 19″ model, repectively). Vouchers are validated when you bring your old, gas-powered lawn mower to Modesto Junk Co. There are a limited number of vouchers available. The program is on a first come, first served basis. For the fourth year in a row, the Modesto Junk Company, Inc. Recycling Center is a partner recycling center with the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) for the Clean Green Yard Machines lawn mower trade-in program.
